That with access to education and the right kind
of support,
families can and do move forward.
Our Mission statement:

Happy 20th Birthday Advocates!!!
We’re celebrating 20 years of serving
Frederick families. This year, we’ll be making the most of our
celebration by doing some fun and meaningful activities. Here’s

We’re trying to
collect 800 messages from birthday well-wishers, to symbolize
the over 800 families Advocates has helped in 20 years.
From Jan Samet O'Leary,
current board member: "Over the course of my twelve-year
association with Advocates for Homeless Families, the thing that
has continually impressed me is that AFHF is a home-grown,
grassroots organization, built and maintained by the
Frederick community for the purpose of helping families
from the Frederick community who are at risk of
homelessness. We are not the local arm of a large nationwide
organization, but a local organization acting locally, which, I
believe, enhances our commitment to our mission as well as our
effectiveness."
